Words of Encouragement for Mothers

As a mom myself, I know firsthand how downrighthardit is to balance the demands of parenting with the rest of life’s responsibilities.

I for one feel overwhelmed (sometimes discouraged) by the sheer emotional toll of raising kids, let alone the physical exertion of picking them up, giving piggybacks, strapping them in car seats… you get the drift.

I ask myself, “Am I evensayingthe right things? Ordoingthe right things?”

Or what about when the kids act out in the supermarket? If you’re anything like a human, you likely have to talk to yourself pretty sternlynotto overreact, am I right?!

Strength of Motherhood

I often need a few words of encouragement to keep me going.

Someone to say, “You’re doing just great!!”

I’m sure you might need the same, too. That’s why I’m sharing some of my favorite words of encouragement for mothers in this post, hoping they might help whoever reads this (or get passed on to someone who needs to hear it.)

Admittedly, some of these words are simply words I wish someone had said to me – or would still say to me today. But I’m still waiting, haha! Such is life.

But in all seriousness, one of the most important things to remember as a mom is you’reneveralone. Ever!

If it feels like you are – you’re not.

There arecountlessother women out there going through the same anxieties, struggles, and challenges you are, and you MUST reach out and connect with them whenever you can.

Whether it’s through a mommy group, a social media platform, or a conversation with a friend or therapist, finding a support system makesall the difference.

Another thing to remember is that you needto askfor help. Bad days happen. Being a mom is tough.

There’s no shame in admitting that you can’t do it alone. Whether you need help with childcare, housework, or simply unloading the emotional baggage, don’t hesitate to ask for it. It may be the hardest thing to do, but you must ask for help (push that pride out the way!)

Remember, you are doing your best -especially if you let go of the need to control and leanon others for help and support.

The Journey of Motherhood

Motherhood is a journey filled with ups and downs, as we know, yet equally, it’sthe mostrewarding experience we can have. How the f*ck is that even possible!?! Such a dichotomy, I know.

As a mama, I understand firsthand the challenges of raising kids, yet I also feel the immense joy of seeing them grow and develop into their ownness.

I feelsoproud having watched both our boys grow from day one, being fortunate that I could stay home with them – partly funded by this blog and my copywriting work.

Through the sleepless nights, the hard days, the endless diaper changes, tantrums, screams, and outbursts of every kindimaginable, we mothers learn to be patient, resilient, and selfless. Wealwaysput our children’s needs before our own, making sacrifices for their own well-being.

In return, a mother’s arms to a child are the safest, most beautiful place there could ever be. We are the whole world to our children, and there is no stronger bond than that.

Recognizing a Mother’s Love

A mother’s love is the purest love imaginable. In fact, there’s so much love that, at times, it hurts! It’s like a glorious life force that has no off switch!

It’s the most selfless form of love known to this earth. You see it in nature, too – that special sweetness between a mommy cow and her baby or calf as an example. Yet the human spirit is the strongest, it seems – a bond that lasts an eternity.

From the moment a child is born, a mother’s love knows no bounds. It is unconditional, unwavering, and forever enduring.

As a mom, I know that my love for my children isimmeasurable.

I can’t even label it or put words to it; it’s that huge. I will do anything to protect my children; all I want to do is support them, guiding them as best I can through life.

And while it’s not always easy, my love for them never wavers.

This is why I advocate for women tocelebratemotherhood! It’s the most life-transforming thing and doesn’t get enough credit.

I’m such a cheerleader for women stepping into this role, the mom thing, and fully owning it!

Putting on her crown, seeing herself as the queen of her own family (which she is!) So, let us not forget to recognize mothers’ incredible love for their children.

It’s a love that knows no limits and is genuinely one of a kind. And that right there is somethingextraordinary.

Overcoming Challenges

Confession time! I’ve faced mom life challenges, as we all have, but I’ve learned that I’ll overcomeanyobstacle with determination, grit, and an optimistic mindset. It’s all a choice – everything in life, and that’s what I force my mind back to when things get hard.

In the following few sections, I’ll share my tips onovercoming the challengesyou’ll likely face or are currently facing as a mother.

Balancing Responsibilities

As a mom, I have an eternal list of responsibilities, from taking care of the kids to managing the household, running a business, andmaintaining romance with my husband. And that’s not all – the list never ends, haha!

However, I’ve found that simply prioritizing tasks helps me balance my responsibilities. I do what I need to do first; then, if I have spare time, I choose wisely how I spend it.

I will say, though, that I constantly remind myself NOT to waste time scrolling social media!

I also make sure to communicate with my family. By working together as a team, we know what we can accomplish, which is way more than working independently. Those two things, prioritizing tasks and communicating better, have truly changed my life for the better.

Mother’s happiness

Mothers absolutely must take care of themselves, both physically and mentally.

I make sure to set aside time for ‘me only’ activities, such as exercise, going to the gym, reading, or taking a relaxing bath.

I also ensure I get enough sleep and do not overindulge in too much wine (much!) By taking care of myself, I know I can better take care of my family.

Remember this fact: As a mom, you are strong and capable of overcominganychallenge that comes your way. It’s the natural state of motherhood – it makes us literally invincible!

And so, by balancing responsibilities and taking care of yourself, you’ll be the best mother you can be!

Learning from Experience

As a mother, I’ve learned that experience is thebestteacher. And let me stress this point: It’s OK to make mistakes and learn from them.

Don’t beat yourself up over the small things. Instead, use yourexperiencesto be a better mother for your kids. Every child is different, and what works for one will probably not work for the other. Basically, trust your instincts and learn from your past experiences, making improvements as you learn.

Embracing Change

Change is inevitable, regardless of how painful it is.

As mothers, we must learn toembracechange rather than fear it. Change is hard, sure. I, for one, wouldloveto have little children forever. They’re just ultra cute!!! And safer in my arms, too.

I personally don’t mind the messiness or the craziness – I in fact love it and wish to God every day that I could do it all over again. To me, it’s all one great big adventure!

Yet whether it’s a new stage in your child’s life or a change in your own life, it’s essential to adapt and moveforward. You can’t stop the growth or the new eras!

Don’t hesitate to ask for help or advice when going through changes. Remember, you’re not alone, and there’s always someone who’s gone through a similar experience.

Practical Tips for Tough Days

Stay Organized

When things get frantic, taking a step back and reorganizing is super helpful. As a mom, I find keeping a planner or calendar handy.

I make sure to write down important dates, appointments, and tasks that need to be completed. This helps me stay on top of everything and control my day more.

Another way to stay organized is to divide tasks into smaller, manageable steps. For example, instead of cleaning the entire house in one day, I focus on one room or area at a time.

This helps avoid the feeling of being overwhelmed and makes the task more achievable.

Finding Support

It’s important to remember that you don’t have to go through tough days alone. As a mom, I find reaching out to friends and family membersincrediblyhelpful. Sometimes, just talking to someone who understands what I’m going through makes all the difference.

Another way to find support is to join a local parenting group or online community.

These groups provide a sense of camaraderie and offer helpful advice and tips from other mothers who have been in similar situations.

You’re a good mom doing a great job.

As a mother, it’s easy to get caught up in the big picture and forget to celebrate the small wins. But it’s essential to take a step back and acknowledge the progress YOU, as a mom, make every single day.

One way to do this is to journal the small victories.

Write down the little moments that made you smile or the challenges you overcame. It could be something as simple as getting everyone dressed and out the door on time or finally getting your baby to sleep through the night.

That’s a HUGE win when you really think about it!

Another way to celebrate small victories is to share them with friends or family members. Sometimes, we need someone to cheer us on and remind us of how far we’ve come. So, don’t be afraid to reach out.

Remember, every small victory is a step in the right direction. It may not always feel like it, but progressisbeing made. Take a moment to pat yourself on the back right now, and keep moving forward. Be your own best friend here!

Messages of Hope and Love

As a mama, I expect you’re feeling stressed out more so than you are relaxed and chilled – am I right? If so, let’s fix that!

Consider doing mindful activities that bring you joy as often as possible.

Say, when the kids are sleeping, why not read a nice book, curl up with a movie, do indoor gardening, or take a course you want to start?

Here are some messages of hope and love to encourage you along the way too:

  • You’re doing a fantastic job! Your dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed.
  • Remember to take care of yourself. You need to rest and recharge.
  • It’s GOOD to ask for help. Don’t be afraid to contact friends, family, or professionals for support.
  • Your love for your children is the most important thing. Keep showing them that love in all the little moments.
  • Every day is a new opportunity to be the best mom. Don’t beat yourself up over past mistakes or shortcomings.
  • Youarestrong and capable. Trust yourself and your instincts.
  • Your children are lucky to have you as their mother. They may not always show it, but they appreciate you more than you know.
  • Successful mothers are the ones who accept themselves, warts and all.
  • The greatest thing you could do right now is simply take the next step forward.

End Of The Day

Remember, mom days may be tough, but you’re tougher!

Keep moving forward, and remind yourself daily how you are loved and appreciated (and how darn well you’re doing, too!)
