YYORK-POQUOSON SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgencyOn April 17, 2024, at approximately 8:40 p. m., Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the parking lot of the Hooter’s Restaurant, located at 112 Bypass Road. The suspect had fled from the area prior to the arrival of the deputies. Several spent shell casings were located in the parking lot, but there were no reported injuries. On April 24, 2024, Sheriff’s Office Investigator’s arrested the following individual in connection with this offense: Arrested: Demont L. White, age 40 Toano, Virginia Charges:Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place -Class 1 Misdemeanor Reckless Handling of a Firearm -Class 1 Misdemeanor Concealed Handgun Violation – Class 1 Misdemeanor Brandishing a Firearm – Class 1 Misdemeanor Demont White is currently incarcerated in the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.19Like9

When he checked the second window, he broke the screen from the base. After leaving our home, he did the same thing to two more homes and then walked down a trail leading to another street. This should be considered trespassing on this neighborhood app. I just want people to be aware of what is going on around their homes.23Like21

YYORK-POQUOSON SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgencyARREST MADE IN CYBER ATTACK On January 17, 2024, Coastal Community Church, located in the 100 Block of Village Avenue, reported to the Sheriff’s Office that they had been the victim of a cyber attack and that funds had been stolen from the church. The Investigations Division of the Sheriff’s Office traced some of the stolen church funds to a bank account in Rhode Island. On February 28, 2024, Sheriff’s Office Investigators obtained a warrant for the individual who had received these funds and contacted law enforcement authorities in Rhode Island to locate this individual. The suspect was arrested on February 28, 2024. Arrested: Roy K. (Elroy) Gebler, age 61, Providence, Rhode Island Charges: Obtaining Money by False Pretense (Felony)60Like15

YYORK-POQUOSON SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgencyARREST MADE IN CHILD p*rnOGRAPHY CASE On February 22, 2024, Investigator’s from the Sheriff’s Office, along with the Attorney General of Virginia’s Mobile Forensic Unit, executed a search warrant in the 300 Block of Ballard Street in Yorktown. The search warrant was issued as a result of an investigation regarding the possession and distribution of child p*rnography. Evidence seized from the residence was analyzed by the Mobile Forensics Unit, and based on that analysis, an occupant of the home was arrested on February 28, 2024, and charged with the following criminal offenses. Charged: Stephen James John Papuchis, age 51, Yorktown, Virginia Charges: Possession of Child p*rnography (1) count Class 6 Felony Second or Subsequent Possession of Child p*rnography (9) Counts Class 5 Felony Distribution of Child p*rnography (1) count Felony Second or Subsequent Distribution of Child p*rnography (9) counts Felony A total of 20 Charges.39Like18
